TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - General Manager Corporate Secretary of Indonesia-China High Speed Train (KCIC), Eva Chairunisa, said that the volume of passengers on the Whoosh high-speed train had increased significantly. The highest increase in the number of passengers occurred on Friday, December 13, 2024. Eva also said that during the period from December 13 to 15, 2024, KCIC recorded that total ticket sales for Whoosh had reached 60,000 tickets.
In addition, based on KCIC records, since Wednesday, December 11, 2024, the number of daily Whoosh passengers on weekdays has reached an average of 20,000 passengers per day. This figure has increased by 12 percent from the average number of Whoosh passengers on weekdays which is around 16,000 to 18,000 passengers.
"This increasing trend is expected to occur because more and more people are starting their holidays because the school exam period is over and now they are entering a fairly long school holiday period," said Eva in her official statement, Saturday, December 14, 2024.

According to Eva, the highest number of passengers was recorded on Friday, December 13, 2024. Where the total number of passengers on that day reached 23,000 passengers or increased by 15 percent compared to the previous day.
She projected that this increasing trend would continue until the peak of the Christmas and New Year holidays or the Nataru holidays. This is in line with the high mobility of people to go on vacation and gather with their families.
"Now we are entering a fairly long school holiday period because it will continue until the holidays at the Christmas and New Year moments," she said.
She said that to accommodate the increase in the number of passengers welcoming the end of this year, KCIC has operated 48 Whoosh trips with a total of 28,000 seats each day. She also appealed to the public to book tickets early to avoid running out of tickets or queues at the station counters.
"KCIC is committed to continuously improving services for comfort and ease of travel," he said.
