TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Moment of Honor for The Daddies was held before the final match of the 2025 Indonesia Masters at Istora Senayan, Jakarta on Sunday, January 26, 2025. The sound of applause and the roar of the audience echoed welcoming the men's doubles pair Mohammad Ahsan / Hendra Setiawan as they took the stage.
Both of them officially retired after losing in the round of 16 of the Badminton World Federation (BWF) Super 500 tournament, losing to Malaysian representatives Yap Roy King / Junaidi Arif 13-21, 14-21 in the round of 16, Thursday, January 23, 2025.
Ahsan and Hendra's waving hands were warmly welcomed by thousands of pairs of eyes at Istora Senayan. Both of them tried to keep smiling as they walked towards the stage. "Frankly, there is sadness, but I am happy to end my match at Istora," said Hendra on stage.
"I thank you for attending our farewell event. Of course it is sad because this is our last match," said Ahsan in reply.
Then, PB Jaya Raya Chairman Rudy Haryono and PB Djarum Chairman Yoppy Rosimin gave a caricature of The Daddies' faces and a t-shirt.
After that, Ahsan/Hendra served their last exhibition match at Istora Senayan for about 12 minutes against former world number one men's doubles Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo and 2023 world champion from South Korea Seo Seung Jae.
There was also a relay of greetings from world players such as Mathias Christiansen, Selena Piek, Liang Wei Keng/Wang Chang, Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik, Zheng Si Wei/Huang Ya Qiong, to Kim Astrup/Anders Skaarup Rasmussen.

After the farewell event, outside Istora Senayan, The Daddies fans lined up waiting for their idols to arrive with a black fence as a barrier. Some of them brought T-shirts with The Daddies written on them, while others brought books to be signed and asked for photos.
Ahsan seemed to take his fans' gadgets and immortalize the moment by taking selfies. One by one the gadgets moved from his hands with the fence separating him and his fans.
