TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's Bandung Institute of Science and Technology (ITSB) held the 2024 AI Transformation Festival with the theme Redefining Technology Education to be a Leader in the Future World at the ITSB Auditorium, Cikarang, on Friday afternoon, December 13, 2024. This event symbolizes ITSB's ambition to adapt to technological developments through educational innovation.
This momentum was also used to launch ITSB's new logo, reflecting the institution's commitment to technological transformation and educational innovation. In his remarks, Swasono Satyo Nugroho, CHRO Digital Tech Business Sinar Mas Multi Artha & Mining Group, emphasized the importance of integrating AI technology, data science, and the business climate to face the challenges of the digital era.
"We equip academics with AI technology skills to be integrated into the business world. In an era of openness, AI technology greatly helps humans in decision making. We support ITSB to become a Research University that prepares the younger generation to collaborate between AI technology and industry, so as to bring honor to the nation," he said.
The event was attended by a number of important figures, including the Chairman of the ITSB Foundation Board of Trustees Prof. Dr. Ir. Djoko Santoso, M.Sc., and ITSB Rector Prof. Dr. Carmadi Machbub. Prof. Carmadi explained ITSB's vision and mission to become a private university that focuses on technology and science.
"The advancement of AI technology is inevitable. ITSB is committed to providing quality education that educates the nation's children, especially in the fields of engineering technology, digital science, and business," said Carmadi.
Currently, ITSB has 1,300 students from all over Indonesia, from Aceh to Papua. With various scholarship programs, ITSB provides access to quality education for all, including establishing close cooperation with the Sinarmas Group to support graduates in facing the challenges of the world of work.
As part of the festival, a talk show session with the theme Bridging Academia and Industry in The AI Era presented Prof. Dra. Gracia Shinta Ugut and Ridzki Kramadibrata, who highlighted the importance of collaboration between academia and industry to encourage innovation and answer the needs of the times.
The event closed with appreciation to the winners of the creative competition, including short film making and writing on the theme of ITSB transformation and AI implementation, affirming ITSB's dedication to leading technology education in the future.
