TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Greater Jakarta Light Rail Transit, or LRT Jabodebek, records 133,375 passengers during the Isra Miraj holiday period from January 25 to 27, 2025, marking an 8.73 percent surge compared to a 4-day period last year with 122,671 passengers.
Executive VP of LRT Jabodebek, Mochamad Purnomosidi, said the positive trend solidifies LRT Jabodebek’s status as people’s choice for transport during the long holiday season.
“Not only are we focusing on providing affordable services with a maximum fare of Rp10,000 on weekends and public holidays, but we also strive to meet the demand of a modern society,” he said in an official statement quoted on Thursday, January 30.
The upward trend LRT Jabodebek recorded is attributable to the ever-developing facilities and innovations run by the company, said Purnomosidi. “Including allowing non-folding bicycles to enter the LRT on weekends. This facility makes LRT Jabodebek more relevant for people who want to take a vacation or exercise in the city,” Purnomosidi said.
Many users also opt for LRT Jabodebek to reach strategically positioned stations close to the city center as well as tourist attractions and shopping sites, such as the Dukuh Atas BNI, Jati Mulya, East Bekasi, Cikoko, and Harjamukti LRT stations.
These stations facilitate access to numerous tourist destinations and sports facilities. Integration with other modes of transportation, such as Commuter Line, Jakarta Mass Rapid Transit (MRT), and Transjakarta, further assists people’s mobility, making LRT Jabodebek a practical and efficient transportation solution.
Purnomosidi claims LRT Jabodebek acts as a reliable mode of transportation that supports the mobility of urban communities and promotes environmentally friendly and sustainable lifestyles.
“We greatly appreciate the growing public trust in LRT Jabodebek. We are committed to ensuring the safety, comfort, and punctuality of our services,” he said.
