TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto landed in London, UK, at approximately 8:40 a.m. local time on Wednesday, November 20, 2024. During his visit, he is scheduled to meet with King Charles III and Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
Upon his arrival at Stansted Airport, the President was warmly welcomed by UK representatives, including Charles Anderson DL, Special Representative of the UK Foreign Minister Adele Taylor MBE, UK Ambassador to Indonesia Jeremy CVO OBE, Indonesian Ambassador to London Desra Percaya, and Defense Attaché of the Indonesian Embassy in London Colonel Faishal Ridlwan.
In addition to the royal audience and meeting with the Prime Minister, Prabowo will also engage in a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner and participate in the CEO Roundtable Forum.
Accompanying the President on this UK visit are Foreign Minister Sugiono and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
Prior to his arrival in the UK, the retired general concluded his visit to Brazil, where he participated in the G20 Summit and held bilateral meetings with several friendly nations. The President departed from Galeo Air Force Base in Rio de Janeiro around 6:00 p.m. local time.
Initially, the UK was scheduled to be the final destination of Prabowo's foreign tour, which commenced on November 8, 2024. The tour encompassed visits to China, the United States, Peru for the APEC Summit, and Brazil for the G20 Summit.
Prabowo was scheduled to return on November 23, 2024. However, he hinted at the possibility of extending his trip to the Middle East. “[We’ll visit] several Middle Eastern countries, but we'll see if the dates work out. But I do plan to return home soon,” he remarked with a smile during a press conference in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday, November 17, 2024.
