Vietnam National Team Coach Kim Sang-sik respects Shin Tae-yong's struggle with the Garuda Squad in the 2024 AFF Cup. He also recalled his closeness to the 53-year-old coach. "We played in the same club and shared a room when we were still players. Coach Shin is my senior and I really respect him," said Kim Sang Sik as reported by Bongda24h.
Shin Tae-yong and Kim Sang Sik once played for the South Korean club, Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma. STY played for Seongnam from 1992-2004 while Kim Sang Sik from 1999-2008. "I am looking forward to this match. However, during the match I will put aside personal closeness to achieve the best results in tomorrow's match," he said.
In this match, the Indonesian National Team lost key player Marselino Ferdinan due to suspension. "We have many players from the 17-20 age group. The goal is to prepare them for the youth tournament.
