TEMPO.CO, Bogor - The Bogor Regency Government has declared an emergency response status after holding a coordination meeting with the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) at the Bogor Regency Government Complex in Cibinong, Bogor Regency today.
Head of BNPB Lieutenant General TNJ Suharyanto stated that the decision was made due to the numerous natural disasters that have occurred recently in several areas of Bogor Regency, such as Cisarua, Rumpin, Citeureup, and Bojonggede.
"The Regent has declared an emergency response status, so the central government will immediately enter and collaborate with the local government. We will make every effort to fulfill the needs of the disaster-affected communities to the fullest," Suharyanto said at the Tegar Beriman Building on Monday, March 3, 2025.
Suharyanto mentioned that the emergency response status issued by the Bogor Regency Government will be effective for two weeks starting today until Monday, March 17. "The Regent's directive was that these three weeks are crucial because of the upcoming Eid al-Fitr national holiday, and the Bogor area, especially the peak area, will be crowded," he added.
Based on the data obtained by Suharyanto and the Bogor Regency Government, 346 people have been evacuated to safe places due to the floods that have hit the Bogor Regency area in the last two days. However, the floods have started to recede, although there are still puddles in some areas.
"Some have returned to their homes, but the Bogor Regency Government, under the direction of the Regent and the central government through BNPB, will ensure that the needs of the flood-affected communities, especially those who have been evacuated, will be fully met," Suharyanto said.
Bogor Regent Rudy Susmanto previously mentioned that disasters did not only occur in the southern part of Bogor Regency, precisely in the retired PTPN employee settlement in the Puncak area. However, several other areas in Bogor Regency have also been affected by floods and landslides after heavy rainfall in the area and its surroundings.
"The disasters not only occurred in the southern region, but also in the central part, namely Citeureup and Bojong Gede, in the western part in Sukajaya, in the eastern part in Gunungputri, and several other locations that are currently being surveyed by the field team," said Rudy.
