TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Many game players have complained about numerous bugs or programming flaws in the Upin & Ipin Universe game. The impact is that the character animations can penetrate objects or walls and suddenly move on their own.
The Creative Director of Les' Copaque Production, Khairul Aimran Ibrahim, stated that the issue will be addressed soon. "We will address this issue from time to time, and we will update the patches," he said through the Les' Copaque Production YouTube channel uploaded on Friday, July 25, 2025.
Khairul said that before the release of the game, the developers had conducted tests. However, when more than 100,000 people played Upin & Ipin Universe, each player found various bugs in every corner of the map. Therefore, the developers will make improvements. "Usually in games, there will be things like that. So, gamers usually understand this," he said.
This game has garnered a lot of criticism and negative reviews due to the bugs. In addition, some players feel that the game is not worth its selling price of Rp654,452. The weak storyline and copyright claim issues from streamers are also highlighted.
Upin & Ipin Story
The Upin & Ipin Universe game, developed by Streamline Studios in collaboration with Les' Copaque Production, is adapted from the Upin & Ipin animated series. The storyline follows the adventures of the twin boys in Kampung Durian Runtuh, a fictional village where Upin and Ipin, along with their family and friends, reside.
Players can interact with other characters such as Opah and Kak Ros-Upin and Ipin's grandmother and older sister. Activities inside the house include jumping on the bed, playing, and cooking fried chicken. Players can also garden in the backyard.
Outside the house, players can ride bicycles, play spinning tops, remote control racing cars, and swim. In this open-world game, players can also explore various objects scattered throughout every corner of the map.
